In September 2023, the lab welcomed post-doc Siddhartha Sengupta into the lab. Sid received his PhD from the School of Tropical Medicine and Jadavpur University in Kolkata in India. There, he worked in Dr. Anusri Tripathi’s lab with host-pathogen interactions involving Chikungunya and Dengue-Chikungunya co-infected patients and also studied the effects of Curcumin in treating Chikungunya infected arthritic mice. With all the expertise Sid brings, his project will be focusing on mRNA-LNP vaccine modulations to develop a Chikungunya vaccine which reduces inflammatory reactogenicity and retains other immune sensing pathways.
